Investment Meetings in Paris and Dublin
As one of the richest provinces in Indonesia, Riau is blessed with oil. But there’s more in Riau than just oil. At least three of the largest crude palm oil (CPO) producers in the world are located in Riau.
Besides its vast resources, Riau occupies the central part of the eastern region of the Sumatra Island, which straddles between the Malacca Strait, the South China Sea and the Berhala Straits. From an economic and strategic perspective the Malacca Strait is one of the most important shipping lanes in the world, an equivalent of the Suez Canal, or the Panama Canal. The Strait forms the main ship passageway between the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean, linking three of the world's most populous nations: India, Indonesia and China. As Indonesia strives to connect itself more to the two fastest growing economies, India and China, Riau can play a strategic role.
HD AsiaAdvisory organized meetings for the Governor of Riau, Rusli Zainal with potential investors in Paris (March 28, 2007) and Dublin, Ireland (March 29, 2007). The governor and the province’s Investment Promotion Board presented their clear strategy on how to make Riau a viable place for investment.
